CIC says on its website that 80% of applications submitted are processed within 6 months. However, I am curious to know how long did it take for people in this forum to get their PR after submission of their application? What is the current average time? Any ideas?

you mean after ITA? Because in my case having had a high number points I got my ITA one week after submitting my express entry application. Other people in the lower 400s are close but sometimes not right on point for the cutoff.

No, I mean after submitting all the required documents (such as PCC, Medical report, etc.) for permanent residency. In other words after getting the acknowledgement of receipt for the application for permanent residence. Any ideas?

Not yet, I'm still in that phase as well. From what I've read in the forum it can take a couple of months before the passport request and stamping of the visa etc....

The 6 month thing is the target, but in reality, most application don't take that long. Unless you r application has complications, it should be processed in 2-4 months.

IRCC commits to make a decision on file within less than 6 months for FSW applicants.

However, these days many applicants receive their PPR within 4 months approx. But, this is just an estimate. Not all applicants get it within this time. It depends on the stream for which you have applied; inland or outland; and whether or not there is any problem with the application.

You should expect to get your visa in 5 - 6 months. Anything less than this, will be bonus for you.

Hi . So is there such a thing about the location from where you have applied ? Does the procesing time depend on the location of applicant ? Like is some one has applied from amsterdam , would he have better chances for sooner processing than for some one who have applied from Pakistan ?

.
If you're referring to the physical location of where an applicant is at the time that they submit their application (for example, I'm from India, but I am in Amsterdam at the time that I submit my application) then, no, this has no bearing on how your application is processed (it's an electronic file - they all go to the same place).

There is some debate about whether or not your country of citizenship or residency, however, has an impact on your application processing time. In particular, some local visa offices (LVOs) process files once they are finally handed over to them, more quickly than other LVOs, so this may have a bearing on processing time, since your LVO is generally chosen based on your country of residency. There is also some speculation that being from certain countries increases the likelihood of being selected for 'additional security screening' so this could also increase processing time. But this is all just speculation and assumption.

Apparently it can take a very long time for the PR application to get processed. There are many self-reported cases in which total time beginning with AOR and culminating in PPR exceeded 18 months. Some even had to wait for more than 2 years.

Good luck!

The country you are from matters a lot. I recently discovered that a police certificate from my country means next to nothing, because my country is so corrupt any criminal can bribe an official for 20$ and get a clean police certificate. That being the case, every single person that applies from my country(Lebanon) for example is likely to automatically be selected for security screening.
