Flight to Toronto from India

Hi, Which is the best flight from India to Toronto? I have short listed Jet airways on 26th dec. (from Kochi to Toronto). Issue is that it has got 3 carriers..
Kochi to Abudhabi - Jet airways
Abudhabi to London- Ethihad
London to Toronto- Air canada

my doubt is whether we need to check in the luggage at abudhabi and London? or airlines itself manage the luggage?

you only check in luggage at kochi. rest is managed by the carrier.

at ur starting airport when u check in with ur airline they will ask u where u going then they will tag ur luggage for that destination in ur case toronto and hand u a small sticker/part of the tag keep this tag safe it can be used later to find luggage if it gets misplaced or if one of ur fight changes. once checked in u will get ur luggage in toronto .

side note: keep all important documents with u in ur carry on bag as u wont get ur luggage till u have cleared immigration.

iv asked on another post already but since this is a related topic..........do we need a transit visa of UK if we're going from delhi-heathrow and heathrow-toronto but theres a 5 hour wait at heathrow?

as far as i know you don't need transit visa if you don't change your terminal and your stay is maximum 24 hours
just go ahead with british airways you don't need transit visa check here

till 24 hours.. a free of cost visa is obtained..
as long as you have a valid ticket and VISA for the destination country..

So tecnically, you DO NEED a visa, but you get it at the airport.. free of charge..

alright... so another question here. by "VISA for destination country" u mean the TRV + LOI right? Cus my travel agent said they wont lemme board unless I have student visa/permit as its a one sided ticket. I told him that i have the LOI and that ill get the actual study permit at the POE but he says no other than trv and loi, there must be a stamp on my passport which indicates the study permit/visa/some indication of it. Im thoroughly confused cus other than the TRV (which I had since 2012), theres no other indication or stamp on my passport....and ofc the LOI which is kept seperataly. Phew...

if u guys are confused urself pls help me out! gracias!

You are exempt, even if you need to clear immigration, you will get a 24hr visa free of cost. Max. transit time is 24 hours.

Indian nationals are exempt under following situations:

- a visa which allows entry into (or transit through) either Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA; and
- holding a valid ticket for travel from a third country or territory via the UK as part of a journey TO (or through) Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA, whichever the visa is applicable to (e.g.: DEL-LHR-JFK, DEL-CDG-LHR-JFK, DEL-LHR-CDG-JFK or DEL-LHR-JFK-MEX).
OR:
- a valid visa for entry into Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA; and
- a valid airline ticket for travel via the UK as part of a journey FROM the country in respect of which the visa is held to another country or territory.
OR:
travelling as part of a journey FROM either Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA, provided transiting the UK less than 6 months after the date they last entered Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA with a valid visa for the respective country, even though the visa may have expired at time of transit through the UK (e.g.: JFK-LHR-DEL, JFK-CDG-LHR-DEL or JFK-LHR-CDG-DEL).
NOTE: this DATV exemption is not applicable if holding a US Visa Foil type "YY" or "ZZ" endorsed "Not a visa. Foil prepared at DHS request" nor the US Adit stamp worded "Processed for I-551" (temporary form I-551).

you don't need to worry as long as you have TRV+ LOI
no one gets Study permit from own country
it just TRV and you will get your study permit at POE

your agent is trying to fool you

I am very sure about this..
LOI is the only doc u have with you till you reach POE.. so tudy permit does not come in ur hands till then..

So ur ticket for canada and the LOI from CIC is enough..

Emirates airline has a direct flight to toronto! i had to flight 14 hours with it 2 days ago

So ur ticket for canada and the LOI from CIC is enough..
