Thank youBCgirl2012 said:Here's the only reference I've found so far. Look under "Visa counterfoil"
http://www.cic.gc.ca/cic-index/english/v.asp
But then I saw that in our GCMS notes it says NO under counterfoil, and he's not visa exempt. So I'm a bit confused now.

I am trying to decode GCMS
The following link unfortunately did not help
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/caips-codes-t2988.0.html
any idea what is;
TFR- eligibility!
That is trueBCgirl2012 said:As far as I understood, the CAIPS note codes are no longer valid for GCMS, so the link won't make much sense for the current system.
BCgirl2012 said:As for the TFR-eligibility, I really don't know. I did some search when we received ours, but nothing good came out of it. If I wanted to guess I'd say it means it's being transferred and the next step is gonna be determining the applicant's eligibility.

The notes are very frustrating and they merely show that CIC is leaving files to collect some dirtmissmini said:hmm what abt Transfer File Request? don't know just guessing :/ by the way the guides in the other thread u put r very helpful thank ui wonder if we have something to decode ourselves or they r empty LoL (we applied, waiting to get them)

"Permanent resident travel document (visa counterfoil) for permanent resident without a Permanent Resident Card (see Appendix I, item 4). Permanent residents outside Canada who do not have a Permanent Resident Card and who would be unable to otherwise return to Canada may obtain a permanent resident travel document from a Canadian mission abroad. This is a counterfoil in the same format as a visa and is affixed to the permanent resident's passport or travel document."

From Merriam Webster: coun·ter·foil noun \-ˌfȯi(-ə)l\
: a detachable stub (as on a check or ticket) usually serving as a record or receipt.
Now I should worry mine says YES!missmini said:actually this is good thank u
i think we should all have counterfoil NO since the applicants r not PR yet and they were not before; once they r PR and let's say their PR card expired, they r outside Canada and they want to return, they will make a request and they will get this counterfoil; it's a little different than a PR visa; so again nothing to worry
