backlogs do matter

hey, guys my consultant was telling me that more than 10 backlogs do effect on visa, rules are changed and im not eligible for applying to canada guys please tell me wether it is true. My application is as follows

Applied for Concordia university
canada wast university
george brown college
centennial college

Post graduation with over all B grade from williams college london
graduation with 18 backlogs in EEE engineering
Ielts with L 8, R 5.5, W 6, S 6

I've never heard or read about such rules.. direct or indirect. Seriously... seems consultants these days are charting out their own set of rules!!! ???
Kindly ask your consultant to show a confirmed and reliable source for this piece of (mis)information!
As far as I know, one's low marks, number of backlogs or gap years or overage are not the ONLY or Major factors affecting the decision regarding your visa. It's a total myth that if you have any of these, you can't get a study permit!
However, the chances of your study permit definitely increases if you have better marks, lesser gap years, stronger financial background (you/your parents/ or whoever sponsoring you), show studies are for matching (related to your field) and higher or at-least similar level course, work experience certificates(with ITR returns,to make that work ex valid or legitimate) preferably in your field of study etc. And hence, it depends on a variety of factors and of course luck plays it's part. So,no one can be sure.

From the above statement of the member, I think the member is talking in general... that profiles matter more..and not backlogs. The member is not talking regarding your individual case...

And regarding your profile..you need to mention a bit more... what's your percentage in EEE engineering..final class of passing... and any work experience? Post graduation as in Masters or PG diploma..and in which field? And finally which particular courses you are applying to the list of these following Universities/ colleges?

Your IELTS reading score is low... you need minimum 6.0 in all bands.

I have only applied of Canada west got no intention to apply, and if I got rejected from colleges then i think there is no other option rather then to apply through canada west and change the university to college after 1 semister

Your profile is good enough. What's your GMAT score? According to Concordia MBA admissions website, http://johnmolson.concordia.ca/en/graduate-programs/mba-program/admissions you need atleast 580 in GMAT. If you have that score, and you get accepted into their MBA programme, then definitely go for it. That's the best option out of all you listed above and I think, if you have that level of GMAT score, you must definitely apply to other similar level MBA programmes in public universities across Canada and even consider a bit lower level MBA like at Vancouver Island university WHICH IS WAY BETTER THAN OPTING FOR AT Univ. of Canada west.. don't keep Univ. of Canada west as an option. If not MBA Rather, apply for public colleges in their 2 years PG cert/diploma in Business. One of unique 2 years PG DIPLOMA (and not certificate) course is Global business management and leadership at Vancouver community college (http://www.vcc.ca/programs-courses/details.cfm?div=2&area=CSBUSIPROG&prog=GLBMANLEAD) or 2 years PG certificate courses of Global Business Management at Centennial college or Humber college.

i am also seriously worried about these backlogs
i have 12 of them
but my overall percentage is 75%
ielts is 7 with none below 6.5
got a course in seneca bank loan upto 12 lacs

If ur course is relevant to ur previous study or work exp then I do not think it will lead to any problem...
Please go ahead and apply...

Again...make sure to check with good resources/consultants if u are eligible to apply in SPP or General Visa...
