Rant:

IRCC is an extremely unfair organization. It makes no sense that someone who applied 22 days after me, in the same location, has already received their oath while I am still waiting.

I understand that background checks and individual circumstances can cause delays, but all of those steps were already completed in my case. Situations like this create the impression that some applicants are being prioritized over others, which seriously undermines confidence in the fairness, transparency, and consistency of IRCC’s processing system.
I completely understand your frustration, Over the past 7 years I've had so many applications (study permit, work permit, PR, and now citizenship) with IRCC and I'm somehow used to this unknown wait time. I've seen a lot of August applications submitted way after me already have their oath date while I am still waiting for my LPP to be completed, however, I also see so many July or even June application on the same boat.

Oath invite for Feb 6, 2026!

I will need to reschedule it!
Hi,
I’m in a similar situation with a pre-scheduled trip that I’m unable to change.
Do we need to wait until we receive the official oath invitation email, or can we contact IRCC as soon as we see the oath date updated in the tracker to request a reschedule, please?
Thank you in advance.
That is from the test invite that they send you via email.

Hi, yes, we need to wait for the oath email invitation, as each of us will be assigned to a different local office.
I read somewhere (I think on the website) that we can either send web form or an email response to them; however; email response is preferred! So that's what I did. My reasoning/ assumption is that sending a web form will put it into a general queue (which we have to wait longer for a response), whereas sending them an email reply to a dedicated email address will help give us a faster response. In my case, it proved to be correct!

Anything else, you can ask me! Best of luck!

Congratulations! Do you have any tips or guidance on how to email them and also which email did you use?
Hi, thank you!

I used the email address of my local office, which they indicated in their oath email invitation. I suggest that you do the same: read their email very carefully, follow the instructions, and send them an email.

It's not really tips, per se, haha, but my email to them was polite, short, and sufficient.

The email went like this:

______

I provided them with my full name, UCI, and application number.

I thanked them for their time in finalizing my application.

I requested an in-person and a different oath date.

I gave them my reasons.

I gave them the date I will be available to take the oath (any day after xxx)

I gave them my flight booking.

I thanked them again.

______

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I had another update on my portal after receiving oath email invite. But I don’t see any change in portal. Did anyone else’s portal updated after receiving oath email invite?

Just to update everyone

WIfe finally got the AOR today after re-submission in November. Originally applied on 27th August and then re-submitted (because of incomplete payment) on 7th November.

AOR after 5 months...must be a record or something lol

Your submission date is November 7th since they didn’t accept the file when originally sent so, it was about 12.5 weeks for AOR.

So have they replied with a new oath date? Or it's still pending?

Unfortunately, but you're stuck for 1-2 years. I'll be surprised if not
