Hi, I hold a post-graduation work permit (PGWP), recently I want to attend a 25-week length study program, which is within 6 months.
According to IRCC, you can use any permit for a program within 6 months, I would put the link below. I also have called IRCC to confirm that.

The only problem is, the program contains 2 parts, and there is a 2 weeks break in between, if that is counted it would make the program longer than 6 months.
I talked with the institute, and they said the break is not counted in the program length, it should still be 25 weeks. However as I spoke to an IRCC agent by phone,
she could not confirm if the break is excluded or not, she could only confirm what I mentioned above.

Does anybody know about this? Thanks for your reply!

Usually length is measured by start date to end date so would include scheduled breaks in the middle.

Can I have an update? I am in a similar situation. I did a 22 week mechanic training + 5 weeks of training. I got my PR but now I want to apply to citizenship and I am required to provide all the details for last 5 years. I am scared that I will have my PR revoked :( I called IRCC and they said the 5 extra weeks of training were not counted into the program length. But now that I graduated I am confused and I hink I might violated my PGWP.

Please can you let me know was it a violation or it was okay

How long was program? Online or in person? Does your PGWP say you can study or not? When did you take program?
i havent taken the course yet its hybrid but mostly one only one or two day in class i guess , but i have viewed the course duration which is 6 months also i saw they had one Oct intake starting on Oct 28. However, if we consider 6 months time according to ircc then it should be done within April 26, but the thing is they had break in between December and January of 2 weeks, which would cause the course to finish by 10th may and i dont know if it violates the timeline or no

If it is a 6 month program (duration and you don't count break) then you need a study permit.

Is it not allowed to take courses that are 6 months in length or shorter in duration if you are a foreign national and have a PGWP?

Not to argue, but the statement explicitly says 6 months or less . however if the course duration is five months but the college takes 6 months to complete, is it a violation?

Ask school for clarification. If no longer than 6 months then no issue. Why PSW program? PSW is a TEER 4 NOC.
