Submitted visitor visa for my mother as my baby is due in February but got rejected today with below timelines and reason.

Please suggest what to do for reconsideration/reapplication how soon and what better can be done as purpose of visit was for baby’s delivery and support.

Application Date : 20-SEP-2025

Result date : 22-DEC-2025

Duration mentioned for stay : 3 months

Rejection reason:

The purpose of the applicant's visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details provided in the application.

The applicant's assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for themselves (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).

The issue with the duration mentioned for stay : for 3 months she would have needed to show some huge amount of funds.

And a baby’s delivery and support is not really consistent with a temporary stay.

So what’s your recommendation for reapplication
What should be the duration of visit If I am showing $10K CAD funds in her account
When should I reapply again as there is a still month in my expected delivery date

How can I state the purpose better

Yes this is her first visit.
No stamping on her passport for any other trips.
Ties to home country that I mentioned in her application: elder son and his family (grandson) who need her support and also ageing parents which need her support

How old is the elder son?

Grandsons and parents are not the ties.

Property, job, etc? Country of residence?

If she needs a longer stay and her profile is quite weak, she would better consider a super visa if you qualify (you are a PR or a citizen).

If not, shorter stay, 2-3 weeks tops with a more relevant purpose of visit for that duration.

Would add her ties are also weak because if she can leave her elderly parents for 3 months they aren’t really dependent on her. Agree that supervisa would be the best option if you qualify but getting approved for any TRV is unlikely before February given her profile.

-34 years

-Home maker from India , no property on her name as such

-I am PR though but I am going on maternity leave soon so my full time job will no longer be there.
does that impact supervisa application and do you suggest changing the purpose of visa from baby’s delivery to baby s support once the baby is born for Visitor reapplication.

Yes, you need to meet minimum necessary income requirements. You spouse can cosign it to meet that.

So he is not a tie either as he is not a dependant.

Reason for the visit is to visit with family and meet her grandchild.
