Hi,

In the same Boat. Online application on August 27th. Not received AOR. Absolutely no updates after submission

@subhasis887 - I submitted a Web Form request to IRCC; however, the reply I received appears to be a standard/general message rather than an update on my particular application. Any idea or did you get a chance to raise one?

This is to acknowledge receipt of your application for Canadian Citizenship. We will review your
application and supporting documents and will contact you if additional information is required.
All citizenship applicants between 18 and 54 years of age on the date they sign their application
must meet language and knowledge requirements to become a Canadian citizen. If this includes
you, you will need to:
• Demonstrate competence in basic communication in English or French.
• Pass a written or if necessary, an oral test on your knowledge of Canada and the rights
and responsibilities of citizenship.

The best way to communicate with IRCC is to call them! At least you will be able to get confirmation that your application is in system and received temporary application number.

Based on the timeline for May -June applications, looks like my Test letter will come in Jan. But I am going to India from last week of Dec till Feb 1st week. Does anyone know if I can write the test outside Canada. If so, what do U need to do?

you can take the online test from India as well. Below are the details on IRCC website. Note they have specifially written "You don’t need to be in Canada to take the online test." Good luck

Nope. They're still working on July applicants.

Hi folks, I have a generic question. Me and my wife applied for Canadian citizenship and we have got AOR and waiting on test invite. However my wife's current country passport is going to expire on January.

Considering the timeline of Canadian citizenship might take 4-6 months, we were planning to renew her current passport, so my question is, if she renews her current passport, do we need to let IRCC know about this and will it affect processing time of the citizenship application ?
Please share your thoughts or if anyone has been in a similar situation.

Anyone with AOR dates Oct 27 to Oct 31, got their background check completed? I have seen a lot of people get their background checks completed in 3 weeks. My tracker has not been updated since Nov 4. Not sure what is causing the delay? Help!

Hopefully soon! Lots of July applicants got their test invites already, I think ours will be around mid December

Generally, to finish with bg after a fingerprint request takes 10-15 days (My bg took 23 days because of Canada Post strike).

I call ircc they said they received it
I did FP Nov 10th almost month pass they didn’t complete BG yet how long they take to complete BG usually. After AOR how long take to invite test.

We now have 2 applicants from August who received the test invite emails! (this is reported in the WhatsApp group)
