Hello. My outland spousal application is in progress, and i have also applied for open work permit with the AOR. I am wondering how long is it usually taking now for the work permit application to process? Can anyone share their experience?

Earlier this year and last year around 4-5 months.
But now 6 months+
I have no idea why so slow on this. along with the visitor record extension, take over 6 months too. Doesn't really make sense.
What is the point of 6+ months processing for the OWP while only 9-10 months for the PR outland? The OWP for sponsorship PA should definitely be processed faster.

Exactly same on my PA tracker here. Background and Biometrics "in progress" and Medical and Eligibility "not started"
same on my pa tracker on 26th november, bgc and biometrics in progress and others not started
applied 24th september
AORon 1 st november brother
what is the reason not undrstanding only waiting
i feel 90% applicant are ahead of me
please say somethingVO Sydney

Unfortunately, there is no certainty or a fixed timeline for the processing of these applications. We are still significantly within their service standards. Patience is key. It can be concerning to see later applications move ahead but you really shouldn't have to worry if you believe that your application is correct, it is just a matter of time and you will surely hear back... plus everyone's case is still unique so it is only fair to see other's timelines as a rough guide. I sincerely hope that all our applications are swiftly and properly processed without any back and forth. Hang in there!
