Is it necessary to show presence in Canada for PR card approval?
Can I travel outside Canada between ECOPR and PR cards?
didn't get PR card yet

My wife in Canada. My question is, if she go outside Canada, won't her PR card process be stopped because they have to show in the portal that person should be in Canada.
If she leaves Canada without a PR card, she'll be unable to come back to Canada via air. She'll need a PRTD to return by air as canuck78 mentioned before.

Did she receive eCOPR? If so she can leave Canada but will need her PR card or a PRTD to return by air. She can travel by land without the card or PRTD and just show her eCOPR.

Yes she receive ECOPR. Please understand my question
My question is, will the process of getting a PR card stop if she will go outside canada.
In simple words
(Does she have to be in Canada to receive a card?)

No won’t pause processing but she needs it or a PRTD to get back into Canada by air.

I checked on IRCC website

Confirm you're outside Canada: PRTD applications can only be submitted when you are outside of Canada.

She is inside Canada then she can't apply PRTD

We have seen people be granted PRTDs when they applied from Canada and then got their passport stamped in their home country. PRTDs are technically supposed to be granted while outside Canada since normally people have their PR card when they travel from Canada. For example someone may lose their PR card while abroad but needs to return home so applies for a PRTD. The option remains to just wait until she receives her PR card before traveling.

Hi Iftikhar. Listen to the experts like Canuck78.

This is a tricky situation. I read somewhere here in the forum before about someone who was in the same situation like your wife. He Had the refugee travel document, his PR was completed but he travelled to the USA before receiving it. What happened was that he was not allowed to board the flight going back to Canada because he became PR when he was in the USA!!

So, if your wife will face the same thing, she will not be allowed to board the flight heading to Canada unless she applies for PRTD.

Like Canuck said, to avoid this all, it is better if she waits 2-3 weeks, receives her PR card then travels outside.
