https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...vices/application/check-processing-times.htmlIf the father is Canadian and the mother is Indian, and the child is born in India, how long does it usually take to process Canadian citizenship for the child?
Anyone has a previous experience about this?
Thnku sirhttps://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...vices/application/check-processing-times.html
IRCC says five months, but could be longer if outside Canada/USA.
In practice, IRCC usually posts a timeline that covers about 80% of apps, and most of those are processed somewhat quicker.
Now note: if applying from India and you want to bring the child to Canada sooner, check with the consular section of the High Commission (or a consulate). In most cases when parentage is clearly established (eg parents married and birth certificate confirms name of Canadian parent), one can apply for a (temporary) passport on the basis of the citizenship certificate application (keep copies! to submit with the temporary passport app).
If all in order, they will / can issue this passport more quickly on the basis that the child is a citizen by birth (presumed citizenship, although that's not a formal term) who is just waiting for the certificate. Passports for infants are typically only one or two year validity anyway, so not a big inconvenience.
Yes. It's quite common.Thnku sir
Do u knw anyone with similar case?
Not more than indicated above.Do u have any idea how much time it takes for the processing?
Now note - as I stated above, if the intent/need is to get the child a passport, that can be done fairly quickly, depending on urgency. The key steps in most places - the constraint - will be getting the documents (birth certificate etc) needed locally.Do u have any idea how much time it takes for the processing?
In india we can get birth certificate in 1 month but for citizen certificate its is taking too long for some peopleNow note - as I stated above, if the intent/need is to get the child a passport, that can be done fairly quickly, depending on urgency. "Too long" for what purpose? Do as I suggested above - apply for citizenship certificate, keep a copy, go to consular section in country, and apply for passport. They will issue the passport - if everything in order - on basis the child is presumed a citizen in time for travel. Then travel to Canada. In india we can get birth certificate in 1 month but for citizen certificate its is taking too long for some people

If travel to Canada is not needed - what is the certificate needed for? Pretty much the only thing the certificate is needed for is to ... apply for the passport. See above. If not needed for travel, it will come in time.
Ok thanks for helping me out
but the thing is getting the citixenship certificate taking too long and i have to travel early.
