Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship 2021

Hi all,

I have received PFL for my father’s application in Parents and Grandparents sponsorship 2021. He has Chronic Kidney Disease stage 4 issue and IRCC has mentioned that he won’t be receiving the PR based on his current medical situation since he would be needing dialysis soon and the costs in Canada is higher for the same. They have given time till Aug 29th 2023 for me to reply. I have enquired with immigrant lawyers and the fees is 5000-6000 approx. I am not willing to spend so much for lawyers when they don’t even any guarantee for the case.
Can anyone suggest if what can I reply to the IRCC to avoid any refusals? Also, if anyone suggest if I have any hope in this situation.

Severe kidney disease is probably the most common reason for denial of PGP applicants. If you want the best chance of being approved pay a lawyer who has experience with refusals due to high medical costs. You can also reply yourself but chances of potentially avoiding denial are lower. There may be nothing you can do and your father (and mother if she is alive) will always be refused. This is a personal choice you have to make based on your own financial situation.

Just quick question, how was the complete process after getting pre-arrival email?
My in laws are in Canada too on Visitor visa. Hoping to get some communication soon regarding passport request. Just wondering now they are here how does PR process work? Do they have to go any office to complete the process or everything is online and they mail to us.

If you have updated their address to indicate that they are currently in Canada they would receive an email verifying they are still in Canada and virtual landing not PPR.

Hi all,
My parents received Passport request on Friday and we just realized that my dad's surname is blank and the entire name including the surname is written in the given name section. I did some research and found out that it can be fixed by going to RPO, but the passport number will change. Just have couple of questions in regards to this:

1. Will the changed passport number affect the issuing of COPR in any way as we are almost in the end of the process?

2. Since they have already done PCC and Biometrics already under the old given name and no surname, will it affect the file in any way?

3. If we get the surname fixed, Should I write any kind of explanation to CIC before sending the Passport or along with Passport.

I am in situation where my parents can't travel before PR visa expiry date. got my parents passport stamped last week and deadline to enter is 20/Aug/2023. Father not in a position to travel right now due to hernia surgery. Tried calling IRCC multiple times and could not reach agent. Any suggestions on how to reach IRCC or any options to extend the landing window. Thank you.

It’s pretty easy if u already updated their address with IRCC they will send email to confirm if they r still in canada once u confirm u will be getting online landing once u complete that after few days u will be able to download eCORP .

Any idea how long does it take IRCC to send us email to confirm address? Is it through GCkey account or email only?

I have also applied in November 2021 and medical was done in November 2022. After that they ask some additional documents but after that no news.

Nothing since June 2022? Have you raised a webform or called IRCC to find out whats going on if it has been more than 24 months (processing time) in total ?

I have called IRCC, they said they are processing, nothing else. Ordered GCMS notes, file after moving to Vancouver office in June 2022, nothing has happened. No comments or anything. Raised webform, same thing that they are processing. Will be 24 months in November
