I'm a December applicant and I already have my oath date coming up on 8th May, Vancouver office. I'm only worried about the upcoming CRA, IRCC strike which will definitely affect our application.
Wow that’s amazing news!!
What does your application timeline look like

Hi everyone. My tracker showed fingerprints received on March 1. My test was updated to complete on March 10. But so far there has been no update on Background verification even though it's been more than a month since test was completed.

Is this normal? I'm asking because from what I've seen in most cases, background verification and the test are updated around the same time. In fact, in many cases, BG was complete even before the test. I wonder what's going on in my case.

Anyone else in the same boat? Or if anybody can provide insight on this, I'd appreciate it.

Did you live in different countries before moving to Canada? Sometimes IRCC sends a request to other country's immigration departments and the delay in receiving that information holds an application.

Best would be to fill out a webform and if there is no movement after 2-3 weeks after that, apply for GCMS notes. That will give you a detailed timeline of your application and where it is at.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your response.

I have lived in Canada for the last 5 years straight. Prior to moving here, the only place I lived was my home country of India.

Yeah I guess I'll wait for another couple of weeks and if there is no update by then, I'll fill out the webform. And as you said, if even that doesn't help, then maybe GCMS notes.

Congrats! I've had virtually the same progress thus far (except for LPP). I'm curious what your travel history looked like. I had about 10 countries for a total of 100 days. Not exactly extensive and didn't require a police check either though I imagine this is the sort of thing they look at under prohibitions.
I have never traveled outside Canada prior to applying for my Canadian citizenship. I did my citizenship outside Canada as well. I have a friend working for CRA, he helped me expedite my application faster as well. He told me I should expect my Oath email tomorrow as well. Waiting for it, will update once I receive it.

Interesting. Must be nice to have a friend on the inside! You made your application from outside of Canada and did your test from abroad as well?

I think the longer the travel history the more work CSIS has to comb through the countries for your prohibitions check, even where a police check was not required. This is just my theory. Prohibitions seems a little opaque to me.

Or...maybe it's a physical presence thing - because of the various trips abroad, IRCC has to wait up on CBSA to confirm departure and arrival times to calculate days present in Canada.

Before I submitted my application I did contact CBSA to get the travel history report. Just to make sure my physical presence was well more than 1095 days. They sent me the list and it's so detail capturing my name, dob, date and time in and out Canada from Canada airport and Canada US border too.
