I called IRCC today to change my address, which was successful. I have passed my test, which has been marked complete since Jan 6. I was told that it is still in the background verification stage. My background verification was marked complete on Dec 6, 2022. When I asked about it, I was told there are levels other than criminality checks.
Has anyone experienced the same thing? Is this the reason that for some people take months after the test to be called for the oath?

Is your Language and Prohibitions completed? If you look at the wording in Language and Prohibitions, a lot of it sounds like background checks so maybe that's what they mean?

Thanks for your message. No, language, physical presence, and prohibitions are not marked complete yet.

I heard the same thing when I called them today, was surprised to hear background still in progress even though it's marked complete for me

Might be an answer they provide to everyone, and they don't have access to more information.

I will also be interested to hear anything further about this. I think my citizenship application could not be more straightforward - I have an entirely unremarkable background, and my PR application was processed quite quickly (less than six months).

I checked today and also had the 2 March 2023 ghost update.

I checked today and also had the 2 March 2023 ghost update.

The March 2nd ghost update was a system update. My PR renewal took 3 weeks back in December, I think the citizenship process is taking about 10~12 months on average now.
