COPR with old passport number but I renewed my passport

I got copr with old passport number while I already updated my new Indian passport to ircc in permanent residency application after getting AOR PLEASE ADVICE ME .. do i need to update my copr with new passport number or it is valid with old passport number ..

Yesterday on 29 june virtual copr through online portal. I was and i am already in canada

So you are just waiting for your PR card. You have already landed.

As far as I'm aware, the PR card does NOT have your foreign passport details, just your UCI# (which it calls the ID number?).

So I don't see any problem. You've done what you should have, you did not need the passport number to match to land, and you're just going to be using your COPR to demonstrate you are a PR to whomever might request it - which shouldn't be the case often. All you need to do is convince whomever that you is you (the person named in the COPR is you).

If you have your old passport still in hand - even if cancelled - I am having trouble imagining who would challenge that.

If you're still worried though contact IRCc and ask.

I also got COPR so I know that in the letter they sent you it says to let them know of any changes, since the COPR letter has your passport number. I would contact them and see what they say.

I believe most of that information refers to the period before you land, and may not be relevant now.

But by all means contact IRCC to confirm.

@Nindi Johal I am an FSW-O applicant, Indian Citizen, residing in USA. My AOR is Dec 2019. In my GCMS Notes my Application has been approved in late Oct 2020 and medicals were extended till late Oct 2021. In my notes COPR and Visa all are issued just not sent out to me. Print Queue has been generated too. But in Status it is Not Started. As my Passport was getting expired so I renewed my Passport and updated the details through Web Form. Can that create any delays. Is it like they will generate new COPR with new Passport or the previous one will be valid and they can just update the Travel Document? Don't know why they are taking so much time as in Late Oct 2020 in my latest notes it says ACTION ITEMS: Please snd RFV to PA, residing in USA.

Also in my GCMS Notes under CORRESPONDENCE section in OUTGOING following status is there for OUTGOING: 1

I am thinking that in the final stage they had to send the RFV Letter but for some reason everything is generated but they did not sent RFV letter maybe due to pandemic and travel restrictions at that time in USA. Is my evaluation on right path or can be anything more. I see no reason why they are not sending PPR after so long even the application has been approved 8-9 month back.

I would only send the new passport - if you wish to send a photocopy of the old one with an explanation and CANCELLED marked clearly, perhaps a good idea.

I am having the same issue, I received my Ecopr on 6 January 2023 but on my copr, information of my travel documents is of OLD passport instead of new(Which i updated in between process and received confirmation that my request to update new passport will be shortly done ).

What's your question? Doesn't matter if the COPR/PR card have old travel document info. If you get a new passport while you have a PR card, doesn't matter.
