@SmzAmir , @CherAmie and others who may be able to respond:

In my newly received GCMS notes, in the very first page there is field called "Interview Language". In front of that it is mentioned English. Does this mean I will need to do an interview ? Those of you who got GCMS notes and got your PR, can you kindly check that field in latest GCMS notes and let me know if anyone got English( or other language) in front of Interview Language and did not attend an interview ?

Many Thanks

You can reply and let them know you are outside of Canada. It depends upon the officer. Previously, they were allowing people to come back as usual and just reply to portal email again. But from last week, I have seen a couple of cases, where the officer send the letter that the applicant doesn't meet TR2pr requirements once they replied to the portal that they are outside Canada. Letter asked them to apply for a temporary policy to get a PR visa from outside Canada.

Sample Letter response send to some applicants if you replied that you are outside Canada>
This refers to the application for permanent residence you made under the Temporary Publie Policy: Temporary Resident to Permanent Resident Pathway (TR to PR Pathway), in Workers in- Canada: Stream B (essential non-healthcare).
I am now completing assessment of your TR to PR Pathway application; however, it appears that you may not meet TR to PR Pathway requirements.
Applicants in the TR to PR Pathway must be physically present in Canada at the time the application for permanent residence is received and when the application is approved.
Based on the most recent information you provided us, you are outside Canada. Therefore, I have concerns you do not meet the requirements of the TR to PR Pathway, which requires you to be in physically present in Canada at the time your application for permanent residence is approved.
We wish to advise you there is a temporary public policy for the issuance of permanent resident visas for TR to PR Pathway applicants who are outside Canada that you may apply for no later than 60 days after your application for permanent residence is refused.
To apply for the public policy, you must respond via your MyCIC account within 60 days from the date of this letter clearly stating that you wish to be considered under this public policy.
I look forward to receiving your response. If you choose not to respond. I will make my decision based on the information before me, which may result in refusal of your application.

Omg whaat???
I asked IRCC officer on the phone before I left… I wouldnt leave without a confirmation and also please see this:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/2022/04/new-measures-to-address-canadas-labour-shortage.html

“Finally, the Minister announced new measures for those who applied for permanent residence through the temporary resident to permanent resident pathway last year. The limited-time pathway was launched in 2021 to invite a broad range of individuals already working in Canada to apply to stay permanently. While closed to new applications since November 2021, the processing of applications will continue for some time.

Taking effect this summer, the policy changes announced today include:

  • Applicants will no longer be required to remain in Canada while their application is being processed.”

It says clearly that you can leave during processing and have to be in Canada during approval in the tr pr policy. U can leave while processing and come back to Canada, before approval. Unfortunately, this is the situation.

it said you have 60 days to tell them you are still interested in pursuing the Pr... do that.
But since when they started with this new bs? Are these the new hires that Fraser had hired to “speed up” the processing? Or are these the same old clumsy VOs who finally got bamboo up theirs for being too lazy all these months?

Yes, one of the applicants also reached out to a lawyer and the lawyer told the applicant to come back to Canada. I am also aware of this policy. But, I am also confused about why are they sending this letter. So, I just shared to let you know it can go either way. Either officer will ask you to reply to the portal again when you are back in Canada or send you this letter. I have also sent you an Fb post, you can check that as well.

Looks like they are new hires and just going by the book without understanding all the policies in detail. But, at least they can inform the applicant that we might be sending you an approval in 'x' no of weeks. You have to inside Canada. I was also thinking to leave but now, I am also worried as in my case, only criminality is left. So, they can process that in 1-2 weeks as well if they want.

There is a grey area as they mentioned that the applicant doesn't have to be in Canada while the application is in process. But, it says that the applicant has to be in Canada at the time of approval. Not sure why are they doing this as it makes no sense to send the letter and ask the applicant to apply for PR visa under the temporary policy.

Hi , but even if we come back to canada at the earliest . Still we will be filling out our date of entry right and they will know that we enter canada after the approval .Hence, they can still refuse our application ?

We have to reply within 7 days of getting the email. So, if the applicant comes back to Canada within 7 days and replies. Then it is still okay. But, this has happened with 2-3 applicants who posted about it. We are still not sure if it will be like this going forward OR If some officer(s) did it by mistake.:oops:
