Hello,

I have my visa issued and passport has been printed for May'21 intake. However, I couldn't attend classes and has to defer to Sep'21 intake.

How to notify ircc and how to send new loa to them??
If that's not it, what are the steps I need to follow or not follow?

Since it is only a defer , you need to send your LOA through web form with your reason and extend your study visa once you are in Canada.

With deferral of less than 150 days, you don't need to inform IRCC. You only need to inform them if you are deferring for more than 150 days. I also deferred from May to Sept cos I got my approval too late.

Is it safe to consider what an agent says on Twitter?

I find it sketchy because nothing is mentioned on the website regarding Deferment. So it is safe to assume otherwise if not mentioned.
Nothing sketchy about it. The IRCC twitter account is run by trained crew. If you can trust the response you get via a webform, you can trust what they tweet about as long it's from their verified account. A lot of official information is published via their Twitter handle.

There are mentions about deferrals on their website as well, even for when your application is till in process and you want to defer. 150 days is the golden rule.

Hello everyone, I've got my Canadian Student visa approved and stamped on my passport last month on July 2021 and my program start date was sept 2021 but I couldn't attend classes so I cancelled it and applied again and got admission in the same course and same DLI for sept 2022, do I need to apply again for my Visa? Although, I have the same DLI and same course but still do I need to reapply again, can I not show my new valid LOA which I have received. Please let me know?
I do have a valid Visa till 2023.. please do let me know.

You need to contact IRCC and ask. I think you need to re-apply for the SP since it's will be a whole year deferment (I believe you are only allowed to defer for 150 days without needing to re-apply).

Hi - For my deferment query, I will provide a brief of my application background as follows:

I am outside Canada and my visa application is currently in Process. Following is the timeline and updates regarding my application:

1 - On 4th July, 2022 I lodged my student visa application with an offer letter in a graduate certificate program from one of the Canadian college (for fall 2022)
2 - In the first week of August 2022, I got an admit to Masters program for Fall 2022 at one of the well-known Canadian University. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PROGRAM IN WHICH I HAVE BEEN ADMITTED HAD ONLY SEPTEMBER INTAKE AT THIS POINT
3 - On 9th August, 2022 I informed the IRCC for change of DLI through webform by submitting Letter of acceptance, tuition fee and update statement of purpose.
4 - Yesterday, I got an email from the university that they have approved a one-time only January 2023 intake for students who are not able to attend in September 2022.

QUERY: I am planning to wait on my fall 2022 visa application till august 20, 2022. If my visa is still pending, then I will send my University an email for deferment. Now what should i do to defer my intake on my visa application to January 2023. Will IRCC still be processing my application after september 2022? Do i need to withdraw my visa application or there is something else that i can do.

Thanks in advance

In my opinion, it's too late for you to start in Fall, so just go ahead and apply for the deferment right away. You don't have to do anything else. If IRCC gives you a visa and permit, you can still use the same for Jan 2023 intake.

Hi - Thanks for the response. My university is allowing me to defer to 2023, so deferral is not much of a problem. I am more concerned about the DLI that I have updated through webform. You think it was the right step? Anyone you know off who might have updated the DLI through webform and got the positive PPR result for the updated new DLI?

Lots of people have done that. As long as your application was still in process, the officer will take into account your new LOA once they get it.
