Dear @legalfalcon ! Thank you very much for all the hard work you do at this forum. Could you please advise me on my situation? Here is my timeline:
AOR: October, 2018; FSW-Outland;
ADR1 June,2019 for CV/resume;
ADR2 January,2020 for partner's Schedule A, CV, Travel history, Supplementary information request for students
Remedicals request January,2022.

I am sure that my file got to comprehensive security screening.
Do you think that the fact that they requested remedicals means that the comprehensive ss is over? It's already been more than 2 months after medicals were passed in my profile and no movement after that. Don't know what to do, it's been more than 3,5 years.

Thank you, But I don't see an answer on the link you sent me. These are just general requirements copied from IRCC's official page
Please read the bog post. They are not general requirements copied from IRCC's page. There are details on what constitutes a valid gift under the laws in India.

Usually, SS is the final stage unless your application has been pending for a long time and the meds have expired, which seems to be the case as your AoR is 2018.

Have you requested your GCMS notes. If so, what was the status of your SS?

Thank you for your reply! No, I haven't ordered notes, but my sibling in Canada contacted local MP office a while ago and ss was in progress (for more than a year).
Could they request remeds even if ss was not over? I was so happy to finally receive the remeds request, I thought that meant the ss was over, but now it seems that it meant nothing.
I will order notes to find out for sure, but I really want to know your opinion on this.

Usually, meds are the last stage, especially if your meds had expired earlier. Most applicants see a PPR after the new meds are processed

Sir @legalfalcon,
What happens to the spouse/wife who holds open work permit (which is dependent on the husband’s work permit), IF the husband’s closed work permit expires and failed to apply for an extension due to termination of his employment?
Can the spouse/wife apply to extend or apply for a new open work permit alone?

Hi @legalfalcon

Im trying to apply for Supervisa for my parents through the new portal. However, upon completing the necessary info I got two seperate document
upload section contrary to what we see in myCIC where the document upload section is consolidated for family. My question is do I have to upload everything seperately starting from Invitation letter to splitting proof of funds and so on. My mom is a homemaker and is dependant on my father. I meet the LICO and Can undertake all the travel related expenses.

Thanks for your help.

I came on holiday to visit my mom, but since I received ppr I thought I might as well stay. Should I raise a webform and inform them that I am already in Canada and give them a new mailing address and then send the passport to Ottawa?
If you were a resident of the US, only then would be asked to submit your passport to Ottawa. If you do so, you will receive a COPR, and you will have to land at a border crossing to complete the landing formalities.

If you send a web form, IRCC can issue you an e-COPR, with which you will not have to do any landing as the COPR will have a date and signature of an officer effective which you will be a PR. Sending a web form will take a few weeks for a response and a few more weeks for the confirmation of PR email to arrive.

The choice is yours. If you will not be in Canada for the next few months, the first option would be better.

YEs, you have to upload all documents requested separately. If you do not have a document, submit a LoE. If you have the documents combined, then submit them again, but do not leave a filed empty.

This information in the COPR should be exactly the same as per your passport, except the Application number and UCI, which will be available in your MyCIC and COPR.

Can the spouse/wife apply to extend or apply for a new open work permit alone?
The current WP will remain valid until it expires and the dependent spouse can work. IF eligible, the dependent spouse can apply for a new visa.
