Dec 2021 Visit Visa Applications pls share timelines

A quick question.... I'm a PR and applying for my mom's visit visa through the new ircc portal.
The portal is not asking for any invitation letter, proof of relationship, or PR card it's asking for her national ID document, passport, and employer letter (from Canada), no more documents were required. Is that normal? I didn't say she will be working ?????

portal doesn’t ask for all these explicitly, but u can upload any document which you think will strengthen your application as a single pdf file in additional documents section(thats what we have done)

All applications qualifying under CAN+ are being processed in few days time and my kids qualify under CAN+,even then I have no updates on their applications,somehow I feel child/children standalone applications are being put on hold/pushed back because of some reason/technical glitch of AI/system,probably they don’t have biometrics uploaded and system doesn’t see their applications complete????Please reply if you have noticed any child’s standalone application getting picked up and having received PPR.

well, I have applied through GCKEY people telling new portal seems fast I am sure is it so?

would it be possible to transfer our file from GCKEY To the new portal? Anyone who did or has any information on that. , Can't wait for my parents I am sure everyone is waiting for their family to join us here in Canada this summer.

I have seen many getting faster result on GCKEY then new portal .....

Biometrics on Jan 3rd
No updates
Brother applied for himself and wife mid Jan and got PPR within 3 weeks
It is definitely random
Considering reapplying for parents since I am due and hoping to have them in time for delivery
Any suggestions? Does the old application automatically get cancelled?

This is the current status. Haven't got any updates on this for more than a month now. I had applied for a business visa. The dates in my invite letter have expired. is this an issue?

Going by the trends, we may start seeing some movement in Apr for dec applications, but again thats just pure speculation and no defined source behind this information.

New update with increase in processing days 117 as of now. "
We’re processing a lot of older applications right now. This means if you apply today, you may not wait as long as the processing time shown above. We’re working hard to reduce both the backlog and our processing times. "

Every week the processing time goes up by a week - so frustrating!!!

Nov applicants are still getting/waiting for decisions, looks like it will take another month to pick applications applied in 2nd half of dec.
