My opinion is to be in person better. Less processing time and you will take the original certificate with you.
Thank you @tarekh i was inclined more towards the in-person appointment, and you’re right you don’t have to mail the certificate either.

Hello people I applied over four months ago so today I browsed this forum to see if anybody is talking about any online method of contacting passport canada about my application. I have phoned the 1800# many times but is there another way of contacting them so I can encourage them to give me the passport?

Even to stay online until the #1800 responds or to contact them through the webform.

What do they say when you call the 1-800 number? Four months is well beyond the expected timelines.

I’ll be applying soon for passport. Would you guys recommend in-person or mail-in? I live in Calgary.
My personal preference would be in person just because you avoid the risk of any mistakes or missing documents. Both should be fine in general however.

I agree, 4 months means there is something not normal. When you called, what did they tell you? You won't get more information from the update request form than talking to an agent. Can you share your timeline, specifically after how many days they charged your CC after your application was delivered?

If you can find an appointment within days or you can walk-in in service Canada, go for it. I read some people were given appointments as far as May, though. If that's the case in your region, I would just mail it, and not waste time.

Just found there is an option to put a complaint as escalation on the passport Canada page :

https://srv144.services.gc.ca/cgi-bin/ContactForm-FormulaireContact/index.aspx?GoCTemplateCulture=en-CA&id=pptc

I am planning to do the same next week if i dont here anything this week from them ( No CC Charged yet app reced 11th Feb)

Has anyone received an update to an update request recently? If yes, when did you submit your request? I submitted a request 2 weeks ago, and still haven't received a response!

This is ridiculous. I don't know why they delay passport applications like this. What are they examining? I still don't know. Passport applications should be straightforward with all the documents we send.
