I am a software engineer, landed in Canada last month. I have a closed work permit until Aug 2023. I want to change the company(low wage/pay). I understood that the new employer should fill a new work permit for me.

- Would any company even consider hiring me? And help me with a new work permit considering the current resource demand?
- If my new employer is ready to process the work permit, can I continue to work in my current job until the new work permit is processed parallelly?
- How long does it take them to process the new work permit? I have 2(two) month notice period with my current employer.
- Does it even make sense to switch the employer? My current employer is promised to support me in the PR process after a year.
