The Ontario Pilot Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) was launched this summer to help employers faced with labour shortages to bring in foreign workers and to fast-track the immigration process for their new employees.

Under the Pilot PNP, Ontario will be able to nominate 500 foreign workers who have received job offers from Ontario employers for Canadian immigration. The program is for Ontario employers in the health, education, construction, and manufacturing fields.

To promote the Pilot PNP to Ontario employers, a series of free information seminars will be held across the province starting this week until mid November. As the program aims to encourage regional economic growth, seminars will be held in Sudbury, Toronto, Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay, Kitchener/Waterloo, York, Stoney Creek, Ottawa, Kingston, Timmins, Windsor, and Peel.

So far 38 Ontario employers have applied to the program.
