Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has released a revamped, updated immigration guide for new Canadian permanent residents. The handbook, called Welcome to Canada, is the official book given to help immigrants prepare for their move and navigate the first months in their new home.

The book is twice as long as it’s previous edition, and includes a host of new features. Topics include how to access language classes, information on the Canadian educational, legal and justice systems as well as labour market information.

“Our government is committed to ensuring newcomers to Canada integrate and succeed in the Canadian economy and society as soon as possible,” said Citizenship and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney. “The new edition of Welcome to Canada shows our commitment to helping the citizens of tomorrow experience a smoother transition into their new community and into the Canadian workforce.”
