Studying from outside Canada.

I have recently finished my first program (three semesters, one year) and will be going back to college in the Fall for my second program (two semesters, eight months).

Unfortunately, during the time of my second program, I would have to move back home.

In recent announcements, the IRCC website reads "On or after September 1, 2024, The time spent studying outside of Canada will be deducted from the length of your PGWP."

Now assuming that my time away from Canada is for two months, will IRCC take my second program to be the duration of six months and offer me a one year PGWP instead of three? If that is the case, will there be any difference if I cut my trip short and miss two to three weeks of classes instead of the whole two months?

It is important that I move back during my studies for the mentioned time period, but I really do not want to take a risk with my work permit.

Is there a better provision of handling this scenario?
