September Intake: Study permit approved (issue with expiry date)

Hi everyone,


My study permit was approved recently but my study will start in September 2024 and end on 31 August 2025. When I received my passport, the visa expiry date on my passport was 31 August 2025. Am I wrong to think the study permit expiry date should be 30 November 2025? I thought IRCC usually includes an additional 3 months to the study permit if my program will end by 31 August 2025. Or will there be changes to the expiry date when my permit is issued at the POE?

Can anyone offer clarity on this? I'd appreciate that a lot.

IRCC doesn’t have to add an additional 3 months. You extend your permit a month of so before expiry.
