Saskatchewan PNP draw invites 534 candidates

The latest provincial draw in Saskatchewan was held on November 3.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) invited a total of 534 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence.

Those who receive a provincial nomination will receive an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points under the federal Express Entry system.

This practically guarantees receipt of an invitation to apply for permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draw.

Candidates were invited through two subcategories under the International Skilled Worker category:

Of the 534 invited candidates, 272 were invited through the Express Entry subcategory. Invited candidates needed to have an Expression of Interest (EOI) score of at least 68 to receive an invitation.

This is contingent on the candidate having at least 10 years of work experience and a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) score of at least 8. If the candidate did not, then he or she would need an EOI score of 69.

The remaining 262 candidates were invited through the Occupations In-Demand subcategory. A total of 55 in-demand occupations were included.

The SINP uses the EOI system to assess the suitability of candidates to receive invitations to apply. The system gives candidates a score out of 100 based on five factors: their education, work experience, language ability, age and their connections to Saskatchewan.

How to receive an invitation under the SINP International Skilled Worker category?

If you wish to be successful under this category, you need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with the SINP.

If you also have an Express Entry profile, you may be eligible for the Express Entry subcategory.

Express Entry is the system that the federal government uses to manage permanent residence applications through Canada’s three main economic class immigration programs:

Those who are in the Express Entry pool who also filled out an EOI with the SINP, and scored at least 68 out of 100 in the EOI system, may have received an invitation to apply.

Candidates who do not have an Express Entry profile may still receive an invitation through the Occupations In-Demand subcategory.

This subcategory is mainly focused on candidates that would address the province’s labour shortages. Candidates must demonstrate that they have work experience in an occupation that has labour shortages in the province.
