UAE Immigration to Canada through Express Entry
UAE Immigration to Canada through Express Entry

There are over 100 different permanent residence options available to immigrants in the United Arab Emirates, even during the coronavirus pandemic.

Despite COVID-19, Canada continues to hold large Express Entry and provincial immigration draws.

Due to their high levels of education and English language skills, plus their work experience, many skilled workers from the UAE immigrate to Canada each year.

In fact, the UAE is the fifth-leading country of immigration applicants who succeed under Canada's Express Entry system.

Express Entry is the main way that Canada manages skilled worker applications.

To apply under Express Entry, UAE candidates need to be eligible for at least one of these programs:

Chances are you will need to be eligible under the FSWP if you have not lived in Canada before since Canadian experience is a requirement for the CEC while the FSTP is a niche program aimed at recruiting trades people to Canada.

You will then need to take a language test (either the IELTS General Training or the CELPIP). You will also need to get your educational credentials assessed by a provider designated by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

You can then submit an Express Entry profile. You will be assessed based on your age, education, language skills, work experience, and your tries to Canada (e.g., if you have a sibling in Canada). Based on these criteria, you will receive a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.

Every two weeks, IRCC holds Express Entry draws inviting the candidates with the highest CRS scores. If you receive an invitation, you can go ahead and submit your permanent residence application. IRCC has a processing standard of finalizing permanent residence applications within six months.

The other major option for you to consider is the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Almost every province and territory in Canada operates their own PNP to welcome skilled immigrants. If you want to immigrate to a province, you can apply directly to their PNP as long as you meet their criteria. Your best chance of immigrating to Canada is to enter the Express Entry pool if you are eligible. The reason for this is a province can then provide you with a provincial nomination in the Express Entry pool. If you accept this nomination, you will receive 600 extra CRS points which will guarantee you will receive a permanent residence invitation under Express Entry. You can apply to both a PNP stream directly while also submitting an Express Entry profile.

In total, Canada has over 100 different skilled worker streams. These streams give UAE expatriates and citizens many options to choose from when they want to immigrate to Canada.
