Yes it is possible but this won’t count as time working in Canada. The Canadian employer will hire you as a worker from your home country which I assume you still have citizenship. You will essentially be working remotely likely any other worker from your home country. You do have to contact CRA so they can determine whether you will be a tax resident in Canada while you are abroad or not. Depending what assets and property you retain in Canada you can still remain a tax resident and have to pay taxes although you live abroad. There can be a tax treaty between the countries so that you aren’t double taxed.
