Dear all,

This site, and the people on it, have proved to reply to so many more answers than our consultant has, and therefore appeased so many of our concerns that i thought I wld throw this one your way too!

My Canadian husband was approved as my sponsor last wk so a big "hurray" on that front but obviously it will now take a while for my bit to go through the system (London office). However, I plan to "move" over on 27 June, so before I get my paperwork. I have bought a return ticket only because it was cheaper but hope that my paperwork will come through within the 2 X 6 months of visitor visa is that I can just stay. How shld i b answering immigration on my possible return. Shld i b honest about my plans? additionally, my mother will be traveling over at the end of August with my son who will hopefully be immigrating with me too and I have a letter from the school confirming that he is registered there as of September (without his paperwork)

Obviously any help and / or suggestions as to avoiding being denied access wld be hugely appreciated as I hear it is harder to get in as a visitor once the application is in process....

oh, also, I see on the online status update that my application was received on 23 Feb, does this mean that the supposed 29 months starts as of then or the date at which my husbands approval to sponsor was confirmed (15 May)

Again, many thanks for yr time in even reading this and hopefully any ideas!

ttfn,

V

Its not harder to get one . They then know that you know the rules. My husbands travels back and fourth from the U.K to Canada and so far hasn't had a problem . They have asked if the reason for your visit to Canada and his answer is to visit my wife. He has always returned. You are not coming to live here so you are coming for a visit . If they ask you any question be honest ,but don't go over board and give them any more information. You don't need to tell them that your son is coming in August and for the papers you have saying he is register for school in September I would send them via mail to your husband. I wouldn't carry anything on me that suggests I am going to over stay or live here .

So no more than two suitcase and all those good bye will miss you cards LOL You should carry your receipt from your application, just in case they ask for evidence that you have filed.

Its not going to Take you 29 months to become a PR , but the date starts from when the application reaches London. I sat this because I have a bring forward date a month just before the 11 months expire from when London received my file.

Thank you for yr answer, if i understand correctly, i shld not b saying i plan to stay longer than my return ticket is dated...

They may give you a visitors record, if they do that you will need to apply for an extension before that runs out (think you have to apply no latter than 30 days before).

If they just stamp you passport, then there will either be a leaving date on that (in which case apply for your extension 30 days before that date) or if no date on the stamp it is six months, so 30 days before the 6 months is over.
