What NOC to go with?????

Hi all,

I am confused on to which NOC to submit my express entry with?

I have over 5+ years experience in Computer (systems + networking) engineering. As I progressed in my jobs (working in multiple countries), I got promoted to IT manager, and when transitioning to new jobs, I was a lead (technical+leadership responsibilities) etc.. So, I have both managerial and technical expertise and I can showcase either/or in my Reference Letters to highlight focused experience.

total experience breakdown:
Managerial (IT Manager): 2 and half years
Computer Engineer: 2 years
Lead: 1 year and two months

Should I go with NOC 2281, or 2147, or even 0213??? My bachelor's is in Information Technology, and I have my MBA as well.

I am targeting PNP as well - so which MIGHT give me a better chance at being nominated?

Any guidance is appreciated.

Please note that NOC should be selected on the basis of the match of actual duties and responsibilities carried out by you rather than the designation/title match in the NOC list. You need not match the duties and responsibilities word by word, but the idea is to have the closest match in terms of the spirit of the duties and responsibilities (at least 60%-70% match). If you have found an NOC where the duties and responsibilities are the same as what you worked, then go for that NOC, even if the NOC designation/title does not match.

If you are not sure about your NOC, write to noc@workingincanada.gc.ca with your duties and responsibilities, they will suggest you the closest fit.
