Hi,

I am on H1B working in US. I want to know is it ok to stay in US even after I get Skilled Worker visa in canada?

Is there time limit for moving to canada??

you should land in canada one year after you've done your medicals [physical exams] otherwise your visa will be void.

Re: What if I dont go to Canada after Visa approval? what is void? Visa or PR?

In such a case, would I be able to restart the process from Medicals and fresh visa? or a new application altogether must be sent to CIC NS?

When you get your PR visa it will have an expiry date, normally one year from the date of your medicals. You have to "land" within that date or the visa expires.

If you do not actually want to move to Canada at this point, it would be advisable to maximize the time to keep your PR to land close to the expiry date, do your paperwork and go back to the US. If you have any friends or relatives in Canada, give their address to have the PR card sent to and they can then mail it to you.

Since the residency requirements to keep PR are living in Canada for 2 out of every 5 years, you can now be outside Canada for another 3 years after you landed and still keep your PR status.
