If you are in Canada on a work or study permit, you can log into e-Cas ("How to find out status of application" tab on www.cic.gc.ca) using your client ID number (found on your permit).
FYI, my full application was received by Sydney CIO only 4/15 and I only got a copy of my AOR by email yesterday, 5/27. I am a student.
A lot of applicants have not heard back from Sydney. You should find a lot of information in other recent threads in this forum.
