We received passport request for Primary Applicant, last Saturday 18th Feb, but no update on the application of Secondary. is this normal?

How long to wait, before initiating any inquiry?

Anyone any pointers?

Hi ,

In my case i got Passport request for Secondary Applicant.I sent passport and got visa.
but Primary Applicants case is in still in progress.

Applied for Visitor Visa on Jan 20 2017
Passport Request for secondary Applicant -- 17 Feb 2017
Visa for Secondary Applicant -- 01 March 2017
Case of Primary Applicant --Still in progress

I am not sure whether this is normal or not .

Hi All,

I am a silent follower of this group. I applied visitor visa to my parents on 17th FEB 2017. I am on work permit and my wife is on study permit status. I applied online. Medicals got passed on 27th Feb 2017. On march 1st(Today) we received email from CIC requesting passports for my father and mother. I am so happy today.

OK, I have already sent couple of CSEs (from last Tuesday & Wednesday). On the 2nd One, I even included the corrected IMM 5257 E form (which they never asked for), so I don't know if the hold up is due to mistake in the form or any other genuine delays at CIC.

I was hoping that they look into CSE within a week and update, but nothing yet.

It could take even up to a month to get a reply to a CSE.

I don't think the 'London' error in the form is causing the delay. Who is the primary applicant - your mom or your dad?

Primary Applicant is Dad, he got his passport request and after waiting till today we decided to send his passport via Ahmedabad VFS.

I applied my Visitor Visa paper application on 14/02/2017 this month received via them next day in VFS, Chandigarh .

I was able to link my paper application online today only after I received a text message and change in status that passport has been dispatched via Canada Visa Officer Chandigarh.

I won't be able to receive passport until Monday next week or Tuesday but my online status says-

Application/profile status- Closed
Final decision- This application has been approved


Does this means Approval or Rejection ?? Can anyone help please. I am really worried now.... PLEASE HELP !!!!

My husband is in Canada and our file is in process... We got our TRV file approved today and SA approval also today itself..

So I guess its a lucky day for us .. Touch wood... Hope everything goes well further too.... Good Luck to everyone !!
