Visitor visa and study permit

I'm currently in India holding a valid visitor visa to Canada. I'm looking to enroll in a certificate course in Toronto, which is 6 months long. Do I need a study permit to enter Canada? If not, What documents would I need? My college is currently processing my transcripts and application.

Technically, no. But I don't think Canada is allowing visitors in at this time, so it will be hard to get in with your visitor's visa. Is your College in the approved DLI list? If yes, perhaps they'll let you in.

Yes, I did check the DLI list before applying and my college is listed in them. What documents would I need to carry to show at Port of entry?

You can’t enter Canada right now on a visitor visa unless you have family in Canada? Do you? If so you need written authorization to travel. Studying is not essential travel unless you have a study permit and you don’t need one for a 6 month course.

Then you can’t enter Canada on a visitor visa until borders are open to international travel without written authorization to travel.

If the course is online then take it from your home country.
