Hello,

I have been talking to people and reading up online at the CIC as well as the Immigration Quebec websites and I find all the information provided with regards to PR application very confusing. I do not want to do more than what is needed and I want to make sure I do everything that is needed. Since rules are changing all the time I am not sure what is accurate and what is something that was once applicable.

That being said, I would really appreciate it if someone with experience or knowledge regarding this would be nice enough to help me understand exactly what needs to be done for the PR process and in what order.

Following is a brief description on my current status here in Canada so far:

-Sep 2009: Arrived in Canada with a student permit in Sault Ste. Marie, ON
-Sep 2009 - June 2011: Got my Masters degree from Algoma University, Sault Ste. Marie, ON
Got a Post graduate work permit valid until May 2014.
-Sep 2011 - Mar 2012: Moved and lived in Montreal to look for a job.
-Mar 2012 - April 2013: Got a job in Toronto, moved and worked there.
-April 2013 - August 2013: Unemployed.
-August 2013 - Present: Got a job in Montreal, moved and work here currently.
Applied for renewal of work permit before expiration date through LMO and CAQ sponsored by company ( 3 years given, currently waiting to receive).

Summary:
-Been working in Canada for almost 2 years now.
-Been working in Quebec for almost 1 year now.
-I speak very basic French.

What I need to know are:
1. Can I apply for PR without PEQ or CSQ?
2. If not, which one makes more sense to apply for? ( Is it worth investing time and money to learn French if the processing times are not significantly more? )
3. Do I have a time limit within which I have to apply for PR?

I would really appreciate it if anyone can share anything valuable related to this.
Thank you very much in advance.

Cheers
Vark
