at what stage CIC would contact your employer to verify the documents and information you have given? do they perform these check in all the cases or randomly?

Dear Pooja,

Firstly, where's your timeline signature ? I asked 'coz you know why...

Now to your query: Background verification is a very fluid process. It starts from the next BFD after your complete apps reach the CHC. Contacting employers is not a regular featur. The VO might resort to the same only if he's not convinced with your docs & claims. No, there is nothing 'random' abt it. The VO may, the VO may not, it's his call. But, generally it is not done.

Off-n-on, the B/ground checks shall continue till the VO decides to send you a med request. It's generally understood that once your meds reaches the CHC, there's no more B/G checks needed. Hereon, your Final Security Check shall commence, some of it might be already on too. Once the SECDEC is made, you get your PPR.

Hope that helps.

how do you know that background check lasts till medical request and after that they will not do any background check...According to me,it goes till they give a visa

Dear coolguy,

My statement is based on the knowledge that I gained thru experience & the discussions that I have with lots of ppl around the globe (not thru www). However, I've said 'generally', it may not be sacrosanct.

Nonetheless, our case processing is albeit, based on clearance of various stages. And the stage of Meds come-in fairly at the fag end. A VO wouldn't like to call for meds, if there is yet a vulnerability on a case file. Why? 'Coz it would waste his, as well as our time, resource & money. More specifically, I had been keeping track of my own case processing thru regular emails with the CHC.

At one stage they clarified that my B/G was 'over' and thus, they'll be issuing my meds soon. Whereafter, within a month I got my med docs. Then again, on another email (post meds) the CHC replied that my SDEC is over & my file is on 'final review' with the VO... and that I'll be hearing from him soon. Now, I also know that the statement 'final review' in such a case is only a 'delaying tactics' prevalent during yr. ends. How do I know that? It's a matter of another discussion.

Hope that helps.

You can take reference letter along with business card from your company's HR department. You do not need to submit your business card.
