I received a letter asking me to provide the following documents only:

Letter stating i have broke up with common law
Letter saying im still at current address

Confirm i am still at current employer.

Just do and reply to what they have asked. I do not think there is anything to worry about.

Could you please state the full date of your application. Day/Month.

full date of application was 2-feb 2007

fingers crossed.

Oh they also requested proof of funds

Jason,

From what I have read and as per research, I think you shouldn't worry yourself too much about the normal things they are asking for: these are quite normal things they ask proof of. I am sure if you can satisfy them regards whatever they ask for, you will get the PR Visa soon.

For proof of fund, just get a statement of account from your Bank or otherwise show equivalent of required amount (Depending on the number of people) converted into Canadian dollars.

Out of all what they have requested the only thing that may be a cause for alarm is:
"Letter stating i have broke up with common law", as I personally would not understand how this is supposed to be verified but again if they need a letter only from you. Then, write one and give it to them.

Fingers Crossed!!!

Best Wishes!!!

Well me and my ex girlfriend split and to be honest it has taken them 2 and a bit years to request documents and as my ex girlfriend is no longer to be living in the same address I can not contact her anyway.

I will be sending off for my police certificate then I will send the rest of what they require all at once.

Im not sure what the next step after that is?

do you have any ideas?

If all goes well, I guess the next step would be Medicals, Payment of RRPR, and of course conclusion of the Background Checks.
After all these, again, if all is "Green" then request for Passport for stamping.

I am sending employment references
police certificate
letter written confirming my address.

hopefully i should have my medical or interview which ever comes first

Well, an Interview is normally warranted if the IO dealing with your case is not fully satisfied or has doubts about a particular point.

If I were you, I would read the letter again and again, Think and then react accordingly. Try your best to get all what they are asking for. It is your duty to satisfy the IO handling your case in the best way.

I will do my best to gather everythign I have and send it to them in that case.

Thanks for your advice.

do you know how long between document request and interview?

Unfortunately No!!
But again, you seem to be sure of being invited for an Interview.
Why do you think you are going to be invited for an interview? If there is anything you have on Mind and are not confident about, then my advise to you will be to clarify it, and try to resolve it and avoid any unnecessary delay in the first place, by being invited for an Interview.

As mentioned earlier on, the IO will only call you for an Interview if he doubts anything. The time frame depends on the IO and I think that nobody can say.

Maybe somebody else can shed some light on this point as well.

I dont mind being called for interview.
I just thought this is a formality.
I have nothing to be unsure about as everthing is correct.

If interview waived then thats cool and if not then thats fine too.

They have asked me for education certs
they have asked for transcripts but not asked them to be sealed.

Why do some people get asked for them to be seal and some others not.

I think it depends on Visa office to Visa office and of course, in my opinion, the country of study!!!

Thank you for posting this, as I am having a problem getting one of my (Studies) Transcripts in sealed envelopes although I have a photocopy of the transcript and original Diploma for that Course.

They are only asking for photocopies of transcripts and certificates of study.

they have not asked for any originals.
