Though situation PGWP expiring soon

Hello All!
I’m in a very tough situation right now, and would really appreciate your input. I’m on a 1 year PGWP (currently working) and my permit is expiring this October 1st. I am still very hopeful that a CEC specific draw is happening anytime soon and get an invitation with my CRS score of 467 so I can apply for BOWP as well before my permit expires. If I run out of time and don’t get an invitation I am planning to apply for restoration of status/visitor visa given that I have 90 days apply after my permit expires. My question is, would that be a better option or should I apply for visitor visa as early as now before my permit expires? Thank you!

You should apply for a visitor record now. Since the next draw is likely to be on September 30, even if you get an ITA, you would not have enough time to get your AOR and apply for a BOWP.

Guys can someone help me please. My PGWP is coming to an end by January 09, 2021.

PGWP issued: Jan 09, 2020
PGWP expiry: Jan 09, 2021

1st Job - Oct 08, 2019 - Jan 04, 2020
2nd Job - Jan 07, 2020 - Mar 12, 2020 (Laid off due to lockdown)

3rd Job - June 21, 2020 - Present.

In my case I am completing my 52 weeks exactly on the last week of my PGWP. Can someone tell me is it possible to get BOWP if I receive ITA after my PGWP expires? Or can I put extension on my PGWP (without LMIA) and keep working until it gets rejected?

No, to apply for a BOWP you need a valid work permit. You can't extend a PGWP. You will either need an LMIA or to stop working and change your status to visitor.

Just an updated with my previous post...

My company applied for a LMIA exempt work permit the day before my PGWP expiration in order to keep me working while waiting to get invited for the next CEC draw.
