@legalfalcon

Hi, Hope you are fine.

My application has been approved in April 2020 but due to travel restriction i i didn't receive my PPR yet. In this case, in last few days almost everyone whose files have been approved/decision made has received a survey from IRCC. On the other hand, I didn't receive this survey message. So, does it mean there is any problem with my application? Should I be worried as all expect me didn't receive this survey mail?

Your valuable reply will be greatly appreciated. thanks

Hello @legalfalcon . I am an FSW- Outland applicant. As per the latest GCMS notes I got, my "Final" status is approved and I passed everything. My application status is still open and I haven't got yet a PPR email.

I got an email titled "Sue Day" from "survey+irccclient_2021@advanis.net" and it says

"You have been selected to take part in a Government of Canada survey!

We would like to hear about your experience with Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. Our records indicate that you have recently received a decision from us on an application.

The survey is voluntary and will take about 15 minutes to complete."

I have some questions about it:

-1- They said that "Our records indicate that you have recently received a decision from us on an application." Does that mean that I may get the PPR soon? What does that indicates? I haven't received anything from them yet. MyCIC account doesn't show anything new in the "Final Decision" section.

-2- This link https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/notices/client-experience-survey-2021.html

Shows the following

Client experience survey 2021
Ottawa, March 16, 2021—If Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) made a decision on your application in 2020, you may get an email inviting you to take a client service survey.
About the survey
To improve our services, IRCC is collecting feedback from randomly selected clients who received a decision on their application in 2020. COVID-19 had an unprecedented impact on IRCC programs. More than ever, your feedback is appreciated.
From March 10 to March 31, 2021, you may receive an email asking you to take part in a survey about your experience with IRCC, and to see if our services met your expectations. The email will be sent by the research firm Advanis.
Completing the survey is voluntary. Your participation will be kept confidential. What you tell us won’t affect any past, current or future application with IRCC.
Service excellence is a priority for us. That is why we are working on a number of initiatives aimed at improving your experience. This survey will help us identify emerging trends and issues in client satisfaction, and allow us to more accurately make improvements.
If you don’t get an invitation to take the survey, we welcome your input and encourage you to submit feedback.
More information about the invitation to take the survey:
If you think the email looks suspicious, visit our website to learn more about email scams, or delete the email.

But again, I haven't got a decision officially from IRCC, except the info I know from my GCMS notes.

-3- On my GCMS notes, on my first page, the Primary office is CPC- Ottawa, and the Secondary office is my LVO. What does that mean? Does this indicates anything?

Your advise is much appreciated. Thanks a lot!!

This is a generic email that many applicants are getting. It could be that a decision on your application is made, but a COPR has not been generated. Call IRCC to find or send a webform.

Also, when a COPR is generated, you will be able to see the number in your MyCIC account.

The primary office is where the application is being processed and secondary is from where you will be issued the COPR / PR visa is you are not from a visa exempt country .

No, it does not mean that there is an problem. These emails mean nothing, and are sent at random. Rely on your GCMS notes / Webform or calls to IRCC.

I have read those term and condition and i knew that in well advance.

But my query is that my cousin will move to Ontario and file still under process at Sydney, Nova Scotia, will this affect to my PR process ?

If yes how ?

Thanks
I have already answered this before. Read the responses. Asking the same question over the over will not lead to a different answer.

Hi, good morning @legalfalcon. I have filed my PR application (FSW O, AOR in January 2021) basis a positive LMIA for PR (which has validity up to June 2021). I am keen to understand the following:
  • Does LMIA expiry in June 2021 negatively impact my PR application suppose my PR application isn’t processed by IRCC by that time?
  • Let's say if IRCC does process my application before June 2021, will I be eligible to travel to Canada (post-March 2020 COPR restriction) since I do have a confirmed job and the employer is currently operating at full steam?
  • Finally, Can I simultaneously apply for WP while my PR application is being processed?
My gratitude and thanks to you in advance.

1. No, your LMIA expiry has no bearing on your PR application.

2. If you receive a COPR, you can apply for an authorisation letter and travel. If you do not have an authorisation to travel, and even if you have a COPR, since you re not exempt from travel restrictions, you cannot travel to Canada.

3. YEs, you can. Each application will be processed on its own merits.

The RCMP PCC was required for all inland applicants or for those who had lived in Canada. However, since the introduction of biometrics, all biometrics are run though RCMP database so asking for RCMP PCC is redundant. But on a case by case basis they can.

PCCs and biometrics are used for criminality and info sharing.

See https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/mandate/corporate-initiatives/biometrics/process-steps-2018.html

IRCC can seek additional documents during the processing of the application, which is at their discretion.

@legalfalcon asking for a friend... does one abolutely have to stay on Canadian ground to qualify for citizenship after obtaining PR? Like what if a couple who get PR decide to immediately travel abroad but are working for the government of Canada abroad, does their time abroad still count towards citizenship?

In another scenario, he used the Canadavisa calculator and based on the fact that he got his PR on March 16th, 2021 and has being Canada on student permit from January 1, 2014 to June 11th, 2018 and hasn't left Canadian soil, and work permit from June 11, 2018 to March 16th, 2021 and calculator said he'd be eligible to apply for citizenship as of September 21st, 2021. Can you confirm the validity of this information.

Please advise

Hi @legalfalcon
Could you please help me with the below issue . I have applied for PR under CEC with AOR 13th July 2020. As per latest GCMS and last week cic agent confirmed me that I have passed all stages but Waiting for final decision from Officer. However, I had recieved additional documents requests on 13th Feb 2021 ( IMM5669E & IMM5406 for myself as PA & Unaccompanying Spouse Inland ) and ADR's docs submitted on 16th Feb with deadline of 7 days time to submit ADR's. After that long silence till date. Also mean time I had requested for GCMS in Feb and the same recieved on 26th March 2021. My question is that, I see COPR number in Finalize Section but its in cancelled status . Does officer cancelled COPR due to Additional documents request is my question as per below images from GCMS notes. Can I raise webform to request to trigger or ask for the latest updates on my file ?.. What's your advise/opinion on my file ?.. Is it worth/ safe option to request officer to re-look on my file through webform request by mentioning COPR number mentioned with TXXXXXX & Validity to have look on my file as per GCMS notes & issue COPR... Please could you suggest your opinion on this ...
Thank you in advance for your help !!!

There are certain exemptions form physical presence in Canada for citizenship.

COPR is usually cancelled if it was entered in error. Most of such recent cases are when an applicant cannot land due to travel restrictions.

There is nothing that you can do to expedite the process. However, since you are in Canada and you were dent ADR request, that could be a reason. If you submitted the ADRs check your GCMS notes if they have bene processed or not and added to your application.
