Also, unless you are able to teach in some inhospitable part of Canada, there are already many more teachers available than are required.

Inhospitable means there are not many people and it's not a big city. It's in a place where the weather is bad. The salary changes from province to province, so it depends where in Canada you want to go. I don't understand the last part. There are also different kind of teachers, high school, kindergarten etc. You have not even said what kind of teacher you are. As Zardoz has mentioned there are a lot of teachers in Canada already, more teachers than jobs.

Most jobs require you to have a teaching certificate (masters) from Canada.
