Hi

My husband came on Study Visa in canada. We took loan from India on our Property for paying off the MBA School fee. Now we are paying off the loan but the rate of interest is very high so we are thinking if we get loan from any of the bank here in Canada and can release our Property in India. Please advise if somebody had ever done that and which Bank will give us the best rate of Interest or any agents who can help us.

We are permanent Residence of Canada and had been staying for more than three years by now.

Appreciate your suggestions and inputs

Thanks & Regards
Megha

Dear Megha,

If you are staying there as permanent residents for more than 12 months, there is chance of getting federal/ provincial government assistance. If you are a resident of Ontario, you have to apply through the OSAP program. Similarly, all provinces (except provinces like Quebec, North Wwest or Nunavut which have provincial assistance only).

All the best

If u already permanent residence then u can apply for student loans from yr respective province or u can even get study loans from the bank if u want to repay yr loans from India. However, u will not be able to get government loans to repay yr loans in India but u can get new loans for further studies in Canada or US or other countries.
