Hi everyone, I got admission into a university in canada for fall sep 2024 at 16 years old this year.
The age requirements for the school is at least 17 years old and I guess that's why I got the admission because I will be 17 years May 2024
Now the problem is the visa custodian declaration form . How would I explain to the officer that I won't be needing a custodian because I will be 17 years upon entry into canada. The minor age for coming to Canada alone without parent or custodian over there is under 17 and I will be filling the visa form before 17 . How would I explain to them that I don't need it ?

It is the not the school that decides, it is the provinces that set the law. The university may say you can be admitted at 17 but you are still a minor. Talk to your university about custodianship.

Who is a minor?
In Canada, each province or territory defines the age of majority. Anyone under the age of majority at the time of their arrival in Canada is considered to be a minor child.
  • The age of majority is 18 in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and Saskatchewan.
  • The age of majority is 19 in British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and the Yukon

You might be allowed to come to Canada as a visitor at 17 by yourself but you are applying for a study permit not just coming for a visit. In the paperwork for a SP, IRCC says you need a custodian since you are under 18.
