Dear All,

I hope you are all fine and getting closer to your dream of immigrating to Canada. I am planning to immigrate to Canada under the Skilled Worker Program, as I am just starting out there are a few concerns I have which I am hoping people here will be able to answer me.

1. First of all I do not have any immediate relatives living in Canada, therefore I am thinking where will I stay once I land in there. Are there any cheap motels or paying guest arrangements available so that I am able to survive until I get a professional job.

2. How much cash should I bring for me to survive say for the starting 6 months.

3. I am 31 years old and a qualified engineer with experience, but since its unlikely that I will get a job as soon as I land I am worried whether I will able to get odd jobs (e.g petrol pumps, grocery stores or fast food joints) easily to survive the struggle period

4. I have been underweight all my life though I do not have any serious health issue. I am completely healthy and I am able to do all the work in my daily life, could this cause any hindrance to my visa application.

I am hoping a reply back from someone on this forum soon.

Cheers.

1. First of all I do not have any immediate relatives living in Canada, therefore I am thinking where will I stay once I land in there. A: Ofcourse Yes, Canada is a huge country not to have any such stuff, but i guess you are thinking ahead of time, since you are just starting off. It would be better you cross the bridge when it comes.

2. How much cash should I bring for me to survive say for the starting 6 months. A: Not 6, you need to bring/demonstrate your cash savings as per the LICO updated yearly on IRCC website. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

3. I am 31 years old and a qualified engineer with experience, but since its unlikely that I will get a job as soon as I land I am worried whether I will able to get odd jobs (e.g petrol pumps, grocery stores or fast food joints) easily to survive the struggle period A: As i said earlier, it comes much later, first you need to be in the EE Pool znd get ITA. No harm in planning ahead, but it would be advisable to take one step at a time.

4. I have been underweight all my life though I do not have any serious health issue. I am completely healthy and I am able to do all the work in my daily life, could this cause any hindrance to my visa application. A: I think not...but the medical examination that you'll need to do will reveal all that.

I am hoping a reply back from someone on this forum soon.

Cheers.

All the best!
