Spouse sponsorship application sent from Saudi

Hello all... glad to know there is a forum here to assist in the Canadian Visa application process.
I have a question:

I sent by FedEx full sponsorship documents and application for immigration documents for my wife from Saudi Arabia via FedEx on Jan 15th 2010 approx.
A few days later I checked the FedEx site and it confirmed delivery of the package to CPC Mississauga.

Till now I have not heard from their office - do I have to wait for 38 days for them to acknowledge that they received the package? or will they simply process the sponsorship and let me know?

Also, is there any number I can call to speak to someone about this - seems the toll free number is for calls in Canada only.

Yes, you have to wait to hear from them. They will not acknowledge receipt of the application - the first you hear from them will be notification of the decision on the sponsor's eligibility and info on where the application was transferred overseas, if the sponsor was approved. Don't bother trying to call - the sponsor's evaluation actually happens quite quickly once they open the application. The 38 day timeline is actually how long it's taking for them to open applications after they're received, so they won't have any information for you until about the same time you'd be hearing from them anyway.
