I am trying to determine the minimum salary I need to earn to sponsor my parents. I earn $40,000 per year and I want to sponsor my father and my mother to come to Quebec. I have one brother and three sisters above the age of 18 who will not accompany me. The calculator in immigration forum is confusing.

I was wondering what should I earn minimum to sponsor my parents?
If I earn less than the recommended salary then is there any other way to sponsor?

Wow, I am shocked! I tried putting your numbers into the Quebec calculator (family of 3, total of 2 being sponsored, and I know there's spot for non-accompanying) BUT based my simple input I got a whopping $95,000 ! ! Here's the calculator I used:

http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/immigrate-settle/sponsors-sponsored/requirements-sponsor/specific-requirements/financial-standards/calculation.php?v1=3&v2_1=3&v2_2=0&v3_1=2&v3_2=2&v4_1=0&v4_2=0&v5_1=0&v5_2=0&submit=Calculate

It's much better than 95k :P Hehehe, I would've dropped my jaw on floor if I got that result truesmile!

How many people are in "your" family (your household)? If you're married or have children, it will be different, but if it's just you and your mother and father, it's $44,865.

Thanks for the reply. I am single, I want to sponsor just the parents but Queebc calculator take into account of siblings who would not join. I am short of 5,000 . Is there a way to show income from part time jobs?

Does that hold even if they aren't living at home with your parents any longer?

You should show income from all sources as long as it's legal income. If you have income from investments or property, that can be considered as well.
