Thanks for sharing this Sylvia, this is excellent news!! I hope they extend my parents medicals too incase background tests take longer than August 2017 for my case. I'm happy for you. +1
A quick update, yesterday I saw the status application changed to Decision Made. I sent an email to the MP's office informing the of the change and asking if they inquire about it since no email or messages were received. Today I got a reply from the MPs office that my parents' application was approved on Friday 12th of May and we should be getting an email in the coming day or next week. Good luck to the rest who are still waiting.

That is excellent news, congrats! I got a call from my MP's office yesterday and they told me nothing new. They said my background check and eligibility is still under review. She said that if I want to follow up with MP in a few weeks, I can call them up. Still waiting...

HI

I am sponsoring my mother. My father does not want to come and he is earning in India. He is not dependent on principal applicant (my mother).

My question is do we need to Add him as dependent on IMM0008 form. My understanding is we don't have to add him as dependent.

As I am sponsoring my mother only. I don't think I have to provide any document from my father for example IMM5669, IMM5406. He should be added on additional family information form IMM5406 only.

Thanks.

Eadikop, I suggest you call cic and tell them you never received SA letter. In my experience when I called them last November I was told I was approved but for some reason they started working on my letter but did not finish it. The agent said he'd follow up and I should get my letter shortly. I got it within a week. Good luck!

Congrats SPVG.

May would be the best time to land. You're coming in Spring, followed by Summer and then Fall. I wish both of you have a wonderful life in Canada.
We finally landed at Pearson on 11 May 2017. No issues. Waiting for PR card. Thanks to every one in the forum and Rossei in particular. I wish all the rest who are waiting all the best in their application. Thank you.

Hi Everyone, I finally received PRR for my mother today. CIC requested to fill up Appendix B and submit with the passport but there was no attachment to the email they send me. I will appreciate if someone can help me and send me a copy of that appendix B. Thanks in advance.

It is appendix A actually that needs to be filled out which asks for names, dob, passport # etc. Not sure what appendix B is. If you need appendix A I can email it to you. Send me an email if you do. my email is in my account profile.

By the mercy of God, I am happy & humbled to share with brother Rossie and other fellow members that my parents+sibling case is approved. Almost two decades of journey in the making to this day. My timeline is noted below. My sibling is well above 19, and dependent on family due to a disability since birth. So I've gained medical knowledge along the way as it relates to immigration through extensive research of my own. If anyone has a case with the similar situation, I will be happy to share what I've learned. Due to a lot of uncertainty and some delays in our case, I comforted myself by contacting MP office multiple times. Although, they can't expedite your case, but they were kind enough to obtain updates for me as to where my case is. I also applied for GCMS notes about 7-8 times, more after the medical stage to know what was going on. With unlimited hours on the net trying to figure out the process, I believe I've some decent understanding of the process behind medical, criminality, and security checks. I will try to write up on this topic sometime in future. Our visa office was London and applicants resident in Pakistan. Through GCMS notes, I observed that officers in London visa office are very experienced and competent. A truthful case should not see any problems. They are diligent enough to ensure they are giving approvals to those who are safe addition to their soil. Although, there were unnecessary delays, but I thank our officers for doing good work. The delays could be due to their workload. Every time we received a request for documents, a due date (bring forward date) was assigned in the system (60 days typically). Officer picked up our file again typically 3 weeks after the due date (so 60 days + 3 weeks = primary reason for delays). I noted this through GCMS notes. I lived in USA before and struggled through their immigration system for a long time for my own PR and family's. I was reluctant to move to Canada initially after receiving PR but God guided me and I moved to Canada. I am thankful to this soil and love people here. And I am more thankful that after many many tearful nights in USA and Canada, and lonely holidays and weekends, I look forward to reunite with my parents and dear sibling. I write all this to encourage people to be hopeful, pray, keep faith, and ensure your application has truth, then work hard and rely on God. You will see good results in a form that is better for you. I can't wait to have coffee and treats and tim hortons after my family lands. God is great, love you Canada, and prayers for everyone's success who is waiting for their case. Thank you for forum members who corresponded with me outside this forum and gave me hope. God bless you all.

Shout out to "RIH - program assistant" who replied to my emails towards the last stages of our case.
If you email visa office, please leave 30 days gap in between inquires. Ideally 45-60 days. I noticed that they replied me often when my case was all good and towards final stages.

Hi Sylvia27, so did you get the PPR yet?
Not yet, our MP's office told us we got approved on May 12th and it's going to be almost 3 weeks and still nothing. I even emailed CPC Ottawa and they replied on May 17 :
"Please be advised that your application is at our office and is being processed as per our regulatory timeline.

We do not require any information from you at the present time. An officer will contact you if further information is required. Please ensure when submitting documents that they are still valid and will not expire within six (6) months as this could delay your application." So basically not giving much info but asking us to wait some more.

I honestly don't know why the finalizing take this long once the decision is made.

I reached out to my MP as well, He checked my application with CIC and pretty much told me what I already know, security check is on the way. He is saying often CIC requests for second medical test, is that correct? I have 3 more month before expiry of my parents' medicals.

Hello All,

Finally my parents landed today as PR. I wanted to say thankyou to everybody who answered my queries in this journey. My parents were from 2015 batch. I had one last question while giving address for the PR card the spelling of street name got wrong (they missed one alphabet) from the street name but the postal code is correct. Would they be still be able to get the PR card or we need to talk to immigration to get their address updated. I went ahead and changed address online by using their client ID. Is that right way to do an early response will be greatly appreciated.
