Should I apply for trv before or after marriage

Hi,

My fiancé and I are both international students and will be getting married in May.

My study permit expires early June and I want to apply for an extension of my TRV. My question is, should I wait until after we get married to apply for the extension trv or should I apply before we get married?

Ps: My permit expires 2 and a half weeks after our wedding date.
