Hi,

Just would like to know if I have done a very short term part time job ( less than a month), and I don't use this experience for accumulating that one year. do I still need to fill this experience in the 5669 and schedule 8 forms ? Do I have to identify this very short term experience to a specific noc ?

Thanks

You don't claim experience but it is still part of your personal history and you don't want to leave any gaps there. Even periods of unemployment should be listed so you won't have gaps.

Thanks for replying. Yes, I'm aware of that. But how about the schedule 8 forms, do I have to write down an occupation noc code and responsibilities so that it matches the 5669 form? and does that further mean I also have to provide a letter even for this short experience ?

Yes in Background declaration, you will still need to complete the information for the job. But you do not need to provide an experience letter for that job.

Thanks, how about schedule 8 form ?

If it was less than three years before the application date, then you will have to mention it in Schedule 8.

Thanks for replying maniac2403.

If I don't use this experience as part of the qualifying experience, is it better to :

1. attach nothing
2. include an explanation letter indicating this is not part of the experience for accumulating 1 year.
3. still try to get the reference letter

Thanks

"Will have to"? I don't think so. Note that section 5 of schedule 8 says "list your occupations within the 3 years preceding the date of your application", NOT ""list ALL your occupations".

As long as OP has listed the other occupations in OP's background declaration, OP should be fine.

Don't bother. Don't make it so complicated and confusing for the VO. Confused VOs are known to reject applications.

Only list experience you want to use for CEC. The rest can be in the background declaration.

How can you be sure of that?

As per the instruction guide: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5609ETOC.asp#5609E5, List your occupations within the 3 years preceding the date your application is made starting with your current occupation.

True, it does not say that list ALL your occupations, but if the OP was working under NOC 0,A, or B and it shows up in his T4, NOA for the year, he should provide that information.

Case in point, I was asked for my experience that WAS mentioned in my background declaration form, but not mentioned in my Schedule 8 as it was more than 2.5 years before my application date.

Thank you guys for providing the feedback. However I'm still a bit confused.

Could you please indicate which one of the following is the most preferable ?

1. Not filling this experience in schedule 8, but only filling it in 5669
2. Filling this experience in schedule 8, but attach nothing for this experience.
3. Filling this experience in schedule 8, attach an additional explanation indicating this experience is not used in part of the accumalated 1 year.

How strong is your application without the above part time job? If you have enough to satisfy the 12 months criteria with 30 hours/week, leave it out and go with Option 1.

Thanks. My full time work is enough to cover that one year, and I'm only not sure if that form actually requires me to fill this experience even if I don't need to use it for accumulation.
