Last week we received our passports with visa printed. Now I am thinking of how to transfere the settlement funds. What are the possible and best ways to do that?. Is it enough to present my account statement in my home country?. Can I open an account in a canadian bank while overseas?. I would appreciate any advise regarding this issue.

Hi Abdu,

Its better to open a a/c in your home country if you have Scotia bank, ICICI Bank in your country. They will open a/c for you in which you can deposit fund only once & the limit is CAN $ 20,000. This facility is available in INDIA.

Else you need to carry funds with you either in Cash, Travelers cheque (Preferred).
