Hi to everyone ,

If our settlement fund for family of 3 is Can $16,967 and I plan to carry Can $ 25k will I have any problem with the immigration?

I also plan to open a HSBC account so I'll have a ready account when we land at Winnipeg , having cash on hand & a HSBC account at the sometime when we land will that have a problem ?

which is better to open an account here at HSBC or just open an account at any bank there when we land and wire transfer to my account when we are ready?

Many thanks

Having cash won't be a problem for immigration as long as you declare it on your customs forms.

It doesn't matter whether you open an account beforehand or wire it to an account you open after landing. The only differences are cost (wire transfer) and safety (possibility of someone stealing the money from your pocket).

You should have at least a little cash when you land, though, to cover things you can't pay with a credit card.
